Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417)

First and foremost, ANZUK does not sponsor teachers coming to Australia. We are not a Visa service, but we do try to help where we can with your Visa. However, we accept no liability for unsuccessful applications. All non-Australian citizens must hold a valid work Visa to gain employment in Australia.

95% of our international teachers arrive on the Working Holiday Visa. Here are a few key points to understanding how this Visa works:

  • The Working Holiday Visa is a simple online application. Subclass 417 includes Canadians and UK citizens, while Subclass 462 includes American citizens.
  • This Visa is for people aged 18 to 30 years of age, exclusively.
  • The current cost is $235 AUD.
  • You must arrive in Australia within 1 year of applying for your Visa.
  • You may stay in Australia for 12 months from the date that you first enter Australia and are permitted to leave and re-enter Australia as many times as you wish.
  • You must not have previously been granted a Working Holiday Visa for Australia.
  • Your passport must be valid for the entirety of your trip prior to applying for your Visa.
  • You may not work for 1 employer for a period of more than 6 months in a contract. Since Casual Relief Teaching is considered casual word, ANZUK can remain your employer for the entire time you are in Australia.
  • You may get a Working Holiday Visa extended by up to one year by doing a minimum of 3 months of "regional work".
